Chubby Cardinal Pattern - Bird Amigurumi - Easy Beginner Crochet Plushie - Illinois State Bird Lover
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you know that the Illinois State Bird is a cardinal? Did you know that cardinals are the State Bird of no less than seven states?! Cardinals are a very popular bird in American history and culture. Cardinals are a beautifully bold, common backyard bird found all across the eastern half of North America, from Canada all the way down to Mexico.
Their name comes from the Roman Catholic Church, whose Cardinal priests where bright red robes. And their name has been granted to dozens of sports teams across the US.
To attract some cardinals to your own backyard, set out bird feeders filled with their favorite seeds: sunflower and safflower. Or crochet up your own army of backyard cardinals using my pattern!
